Claude Science method write-up
To facilitate easier start, we tasked Claude-Science to participate in EPIC. Here is the resulting method write-up backed by some minimal code. You are welcome to learn from it and built on top (but please do not post the direct results from reusing the code "as is" to avoid bloating the leaderboard).
Disclaimer. This document describes the approach that Claude Science chose for the EPIC challenge. The prompt it was given was essentially "win the EPIC competition", together with the address of the challenge website; from that point on it decided for itself what to try, and our guidance was kept to a minimum. The text and the analysis below are entirely the AI's own and have not been edited by a human — but they look reasonable enough. In particular, we have checked two of the claims ourselves: the score quantization strategy does work, and the CNN model Claude Science proposed scores decently on a held-out test.
